Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS)

Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS)

MRSS is a no-cost program that provides 24/7 on-site behavioral health crisis support to youth age 20 and under. With MRSS, a team of trained professionals will respond within 60 minutes to a young person’s home, school, or any other location in the community.

What number do I call for MRSS?

Simply call 988 and ask for MRSS and a team of trained crisis responders will meet the youth wherever they are.

Who is MRSS for?

Any young person age 20 or under who is experiencing a behavioral health or emotional crisis.

How does MRSS work?

  • Call 988. You define the crisis, so if it feels like a crisis to you, your child, or your student, call 988 and ask for MRSS.
  • Our trained team will meet the young person where they are — home, school, or another safe place — usually within an hour.
  • We de-escalate the situation and ensure that everyone is safe. The team will complete a safety plan.
  • With consent, we help for up to 72 hours after the first visit. If needed and if the youth agrees, we will continue to work with them for up to 42 days, helping connect them to ongoing support and services in their community.

Where is MRSS available?

MRSS is now available statewide, and anyone in Ohio can use it.

Allwell is the MRSS provider for Coshocton, Guernsey, Fairfield, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Perry, and Washington counties.
